We are finishing up the first week of the 2017 National Breath of Life Archival Institute for Indigenous Languages!
Community Researchers from around North America have been learning about how to find and utilize archival documentation. They attend courses on linguistics in the morning, and then spend the afternoons in the archives. The researchers have found lots of interesting and useful information including language materials, photographs, and family trees.
The National Breath of Life is co-directed by the Myaamia Center and Recovering voices, and is primarily funded by a National Science Foundation – Documenting Endangered Languages program grant, award #1561167.
